Cheerleading Clinic An Enthusiastic Success
Fundraiser Boosts MI Spirit with the Help of 70 "Junior Cheerleaders"
“Y-E-L-L. Everybody Yell, Yell. Go—wooh. Mercer--wooh.”
At the football game on Friday night, the Mercer Island High School varsity cheerleaders received some extreme reinforcement from a small-- in height but not in enthusiasm -- group.
More than 70 pre-K through 2nd grade girls participated in a Cheerleading Clinic on Monday and Tuesday of last week, culminating with a performance to the near sell-out crowd at the Friday MIHS football game.

The 26 members of the Varsity cheer squad taught the girls kicks, jumps and more than 15 different cheers.
“This is the cheerleaders’ largest fundraiser of the year,” explained Sandra Pangallo, the parent volunteer who helped coordinate the clinic. The team raised nearly $3,000 to help purchase uniforms.
