Asimakoupoulos Named Chaplain at Covenant Shores

Reverend Greg Asimakoupoulos was appointed chaplain at Covenant Shores, a Covenant Retirement Community located at 9150 Fortuna Dr., Mercer Island, Wash.

In his new position, Rev. Asimakoupoulos will provide pastoral care and counseling to Covenant Shores’ 360 residents. In addition to leading the campus’ spiritual enrichment program, he will visit Covenant Shores’ residents in all settings — residential retirement, assisted living, memory support and health care — as well as when they’re in the hospital or other health care settings. He succeeds Rev. Bud Palmberg who served as interim chaplain following Rev. Marlowe Shoop’s retirement. Rev. Asimakoupoulos reports to Covenant Shores Executive Director Bruce Erickson.

Rev. Asimakoupoulos was lead pastor at Mercer Island Covenant Church, Mercer Island, Wash., before joining Covenant Shores. Ordained in the Evangelical Covenant Church, he served at Covenant churches in California, Illinois, and Washington state, and on several denominational boards. He is the author of 12 books, hundreds of magazine and newspaper articles, and a poetic blog on current events called “Rhymes and Reasons” that can be accessed at www.PartialObserver.com.
