Adopt this Pet: Carter is a Smart Sweetie

Carter is one of the adoptable pets at the Seattle Humane Society featured this week on Mercer Island Patch. Check this column soon to meet another featured adoptable pet.

Carter, a 3-year-old Terrier mix is a well-behaved sweetie whose soulful personality makes for the best company. This smart guy is in tune with playful cues- he’ll play fetch, sit for yummy treats and come when you call. Come visit Carter today at Seattle Humane to see if he might be the perfect playmate for you! 

The  is at 13212 SE Eastgate Way in Bellevue and is open seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday.

All dogs and cats at the  have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. They go home with 30 days of pet health insurance and a certificate for an examination by a King County veterinarian. Catapalooza is Aug. 11-12 at the Seattle Humane Society from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., 13212 SE Eastgate Way, Bellevue. Bring the whole family down for a day of adoption discounts, kids activities, kitten tents, cat demos, and more at Seattle Humane Society's eighth annual Catapalooza featuring NINE local animal agencies united under one roof!

*Special Kitten Adoption Discount: Adoption fees WAIVED on first 25 approved Seattle Humane kitten adoptions Aug. 11 & 12. Bring your pre-adoption questionnaire with you to the shelter. We open at 10 a.m. both days, so line up early! After the first 25, SHS kittens are $50 and the fee for adult cats is waived all weekend.

Festivities Include: 

  • Cat and kitten adoption discounts ($50 kittens and free adult cat adoptions for SHS felines; adoption discounts vary per participating organization)
  • Face painting, cat-toy making and education stations for kids
  • Expert cat advice and demos
  • Cat-centric art, treats, leashes, collars and more!
