Books Come Alive on Library Walking Tour

A walking tour featuring giant posters have sprung up around Mercer Island.

The and the King County Library System (KCLS) are encouraging residents to engage in two healthy activities for the mind — reading and walking — by offering an interactive walking tour featuring giant posters of book covers around town.

The KCLS Book Cover Walking Tour features over 100 posters of book jacket covers six feet tall at various locations throughout eight King County communities — including Mercer Island — from March - May.

According to KCLS, the tour is meant to encourage residents to get outdoors and browse the library’s collection at the same time. Walkers can interact with each featured book by using their cell phone to contact an dail-up audio tour of each site and book cover (a graphic for instructions on how to toggle the audio recording are attached).
