Five Things You Need To Know Today, Jan. 13

It's almost all about fitness and activity for today's Five Things.

1) If you’re a senior who has lost your partner or spouse, you might want to take the time to talk about it with fellow widowers at the Expanded Grief and Loss Support Group which meets on Thursday, Jan.13  from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the . Mercer Island Youth and Family Services (MIYFS) Geriatric Specialist Betsy Zuber facilitates this free group session. 2) In the words of Freddie Mercury, “I love to ride my bicycle,” and you will, too, if you take the 6-7 a.m. Cycling class today at the gym. Riders use heart rate monitors to determine zones in this interval ride. New riders, please arrive ten minutes before class to be set up on bikes. 4) Join Trailmates 55 and over hiking group for a hike along Snoqualmie Ridge today from 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $6 per person. Call the to register.

5) It’s sweating suits time as the candidates for City Council get grilled. will hold a special meeting tonight at 6:00 pm to conduct Council candidate interviews.  The meeting will take place in the City Hall Council Chambers at 9611 SE 36th Street.
