Islanders Raise Funds in Seattle Jingle Bell Run/Walk to Fight Arthritis

Islanders Patrick Hanson and Riley Millburn joined over 12,000 racers on Sunday in Seattle to raise money for critical arthritis research.

Local Mercer Island youth took part this weekend in the annual Seattle Jingle Bell Run/Walk on Sunday, Dec. 9, to raise money for critical arthritis research.

Islander Middle School students Patrick Hanson of Mercer Island crossed the finished line first in his age group this morning at downtown Seattle to benefit the national Arthritis Foundation, with friend Riley Milburn was right behind him.

Patrick and Riley, both 12 years-old, play for the Eastside Football Club and raced with more than 70 runners in the local youth soccer organization, finishing second overall in the group rankings.

A goal of $800,000 in pledges is set to raise money for critical arthritis research, and over 12,000 racers participated.
