MI Whiz Kid: Meet Kendall Fagan

This week's Whiz Kid is Kendall Fagan, a junior at Mercer Island High School and a budding entrepreneur. Kendall's been keeping local students stocked for years by running his own school supplies business and is a current member of the award-winning high school DECA club. His most recent international enterprise, along with help from the MIHS DECA Club and teacher Carol Wiseley, helped him earn our pick this week.

    •    School, Class:  , Junior Class of 2012

    •    Whiz Kid's Accomplishment:  Kendall created a business that sells schools supplies and donates 100% of profits to help children worldwide via Save the Children, and with the help of MIHS teacher Carol Wiseley and fellow students, created another: Mercer Trade, Inc.Kendall created that website among others, like the one for the Mercer Island Community Fund. 

    •    Why this is Awesome:  Mercer Trade, Inc. is harnessing the intellectual and moral values of local students in the market place to better the lives of others—specifically their trading partners— such as fellow students in Kenya and Ghana. Clean water, education and microfinance are but a few of the company's objectives that Fagan and his fellow students hope to provide there.
