Play Date! A Hanukkah Concert, Christmas Ships, and a Reindeer Festival

Fun activities and some sweet deals for the whole family this upcoming week.

Dec. 21: Light the Candles: A Hanukkah Concert for Everyone at Bellevue's Temple B’nai Torah

7 pm to 8:30 pm
For all ages
Enjoy an interactive, family-friendly celebration with music from the Seattle Jewish Chorale and a menorah-lighting led by Rabbi James Mirel. For Jews and non-Jews alike, the concert is a wonderful opportunity to learn about what Hanukkah is all about. Following the concert there will be a coffee and tea reception.
Cost: $10 adults, students and seniors $8, children under age 12 $5. Purchase tickets online or at the door.

11 am to 4 pm
Bring your wet suit or jump in with just a bathing suit for a very brisk swim.

Dec. 22: Christmas Ships Visit Mercer Island at

7:50 pm to 8:10 pm
For the whole family
Gather at Luther Burbank Park’s Swimming Beach to see the beautifully lit Argosy Christmas ship and accompanying boats. Listen to carols sung live on the Christmas ship and broadcast to the beach.
Cost: Free but arrive early as space for parking is limited.

Dec. 23: Reindeer Festival at the Cougar Mountain Zoo in Issaquah

10 am to 4:30 pm
For all ages
Visit Santa’s reindeer, mail a letter to Santa while waiting to have photos taken with Santa and hear a holiday story read by an elf. While you are at the zoo visit the Bengal tigers and new cougar cubs too.
Cost: $12.50 adult or $10.50 two to 12 (includes admission to the entire zoo), under age two are free.

Dec. 26: Camp Katan at the

For pre-K and Kindergarten age campers
