Media Literacy Workshop for Tweens, Kids Movie Night at KidsQuest Museum and More, Play Date! Feb. 22-27

Fun activities and some sweet deals for the whole family this upcoming week.

Feb. 22: Wonderful One’s, Two's and Three's Story Time at the Mercer Island Library

6 - 9 p.m.
For families
Purchase a pizza dinner from Jet City Pizza at 6 p.m. The movie Planet Earth shows at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy complimentary popcorn and lemonade during the movie. Play in the museum afterwards until 9 p.m.
Cost: Members $5 per ticket, non-members $8 per ticket. Pre-registration required online.

Feb. 24: Paint Me a Story at Bellevue Art and Frame

2 pm to 4:30 pm
Kids six and under accompanied by an adult caregiver will enjoy zipping around on scooters and playing with balls, giant blocks and other fun toys. A great place for you and your child to get out of the rain and run, play, socialize and have fun.

Feb. 25: Healthy Kids/Healthy Families Fair at Bellevue College

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Stop by the college’s cafeteria to enjoy fun, free activities for the whole family including arts and crafts and a 1 p.m. concert by Johnny Bregar.
Presentations on a variety of topics including managing food allergies, how to deal with temper tantrums and how to raise a cavity free child.
Have your child bring a favorite stuffed animal or doll for a check up at the teddy bear clinic.
Enjoy free healthy snacks and purchase raffle tickets for a chance for great prizes.

Feb. 25: Media Literacy Workshop at the Mercer Island Library

For tween and teen boys and girls and parents
Laura Heck presents a fun, interactive workshop that encourages self-esteem in tweens and teens by deconstructing unrealistic expectations of them as demonstrated in mass media.

Feb. 25: Parents Night Out at the Stroum Jewish Community Center

5 pm to 10 pm
For ages six months through 5th grade.
This event’s theme is Top Secret Spy Night! Get ready to become a secret agent. While their parents enjoy a date night, the kids will play in the gym, swim in the pool and have a scavenger hunt all over the community center. Kids also will enjoy dinner and a movie.
Cost: Ages six months through four years of age, $40 SJCC member, $50 non-members. Ages five years through fifth grade, $30 SJCC members, $15 for each additional sibling, age five and older, non SJCC members $40 for the first child and $20 for each additional sibling, age five and up.
