Play Date!: Homecoming Parade and All-Island Band Night

Fun activities and some sweet deals for the whole family this upcoming week.

October 20: & All-Island Band Night
  • 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. in Town Center (begins at )
  • 5:30 p.m. - Pizza Pig Out (tickets $7 at the door)
  • Football game tickets will be pre-sold at Pizza Pig Out
  • 6:50 p.m.  Senior Night Ceremony for senior football players at
  • 7:30 p.m.  Football Game vs. Sammamish High School
  • Halftime Show: All-Island Band Night (700 MISD music students) & MIHS Homecoming Royalty Presentation

October 20: Preschool Story Time at the

  • 10:30 am to 11:10 am
  • For ages three to five with an adult caregiver.
  • Celebrate the world of language with stories, rhymes, activities and lots of fun.
  • Cost: Free

 October 22: Fall Festival at Camp Korey in Carnation

  • 10 am to 4 pm
  • Wear your boots and enjoy a variety of fun activities and great food including a hay ride, pumpkin pancake breakfast and corn maze.
  • Cost:Hayride is free and the corn maze is $7 per person, kids under two free get in for free. Purchase your breakfast or lunch for $6. Also for sale – pumpkins, gourds and cornstalks.

October 23: Once Upon A Halloween: Mercer Island’s Haunted Forest at

  • 11 am to 1 pm (last tour leaves at 12:20 pm)
  • For ages three and up.
  • Special less frightening Halloween show for younger children.
  • Cost: $13 for daylight performances. 
  • Quarantine and Once Upon A Halloween runs weekends through October 31st.

  • Join a tour of ten with a guide who’ll take you on a trip to meet the residents of the haunted forest.
  • Hats not umbrellas are suggested if it is raining.
  • If you are coming as a group and wish to be on the same tour, purchase your tickets online together.

October 23: Drop In Gym at the for Special Needs Kids and Teens

  • 2 pm to 4 pm
  • Enjoy a new program for special needs kids and teens ages five to fifteen.  Meet up with friends and family to enjoy playing in facility with your child or teen.  The facility is not staffed so supervision by a parent or caregiver is required at all times. Program is offered every other Sunday this fall so next drop in gym will be November 6.
  • Cost: $3.25 per resident, $4.50 for non-residents of Mercer Island.

October 24: Monkey and Crocodile Puppet Show at at the

  • 7 pm to 7:45 pm
  • For ages two to six with an adult caregiver.
  • Will the wily crocodile catch the monkey or will the clever monkey outsmart the greedy crocodile? Enjoy this delightful folktale presented by Mary Shaver, puppeteer, based on tales told in India and the Philippine Islands.
  • Cost: Free

October 25: SAT vs. ACT at the

  • 7 pm to 8:30 pm
  • For teens in grades nine through 12, not parents.
  • Are your skills better suited to the SAT or the ACT? Do colleges prefer one test over the other? Come to this workshop and learn the facts and fiction about both tests as well as strategies for doing well on them. Presented by Mary Juliano, an SAT/ ACT tutor for Top Tier Tutoring.
  • Cost: Free but online pre-registration required by 3 pm on 10/25.
