The View from Mercer Island, April 3

A look at places, people and things in your neighborhood.

Every Sunday, I'd like to set aside a spot for myself and Mercer Island Patch users to put photos that highlight Mercer Island, whether it be a special event, a celebration, a beautiful view or person. That's what The View From Mercer Island is for.

It's easy to dive in and take part. See the lower right corner of the photo where it says "add photos"? Click on it and upload your photos here!

The View From Mercer Island: 4 p.m., April 1, First Hill, at the corner of SE 29th Street and 72nd Avenue SE.

A backhoe demolishes the last remnants of a one story home (see survey photo) built in 1925 at 7201 SE 29th Street. According to King County property records, Aldo and Cecielia Febro purchased the property in July 2010 from U.S. Bank in a foreclosure sale for $424,900 and are planning to build a 3000-foot home — likely two stories — in it's place. A garage and porch are also planned.
