Wish Your Dad a Happy Father's Day on Patch

Tell us why you love your dad!

Happy Father's Day! This observance dates back to 1910, when Sonora Dodd of Spokane, Washington wanted to honor her father, who raised six children by himself after his wife died. In 1966, the idea became official. Nationwide, there are just over 70 million men who are fathers with over 25 million of them part of married couple families with children younger than 18.  You can find more facts about America from the U.S. Census Bureau online atwww.census.gov.

On that note, we want to help honor all the dads on Mercer Island.

We're looking for serious, funny, sentimental posts from both children and adults. Pay tribute to your dad by letting everyone know why you love him. Want to tell us why you love your grandpa, too? Even better!
