Shakespeare in the Park

“Summer Outdoor Theatre” Sponsored by the Mercer Island Arts Council, Wooden-O Theater presents two Shakespeare plays with multiple performances at the Luther Burbank Park amphitheater in July and August. With open seating and an outdoor setting, the Wooden-O Theater Company brings the Shakespeare plays to life engaging audiences of all ages.

The Comedy of Errors

• Two sets of long lost twins unknowingly cross paths, and set the stage for story of mistaken identity, mixed up confusion and mayhem! This comic masterpiece is full of slapstick and sight gags, puns and pratfalls. In this play, Shakespeare stacks the deck with some of his most outrageous characters.

• Performance Dates: July 7, 8, 14, 15, 16, August 4, 5, 6, 7 at 7pm. Location: Luther Burbank Park Amphitheatre. Special Performance on July 9 at 5pm at Mercerdale Park as a part of Summer Celebration!

Macbeth

• Ambition, power and the corruption of the soul are at the center of this moody and unsettling play. A driven warrior and his scheming wife unleash forces they cannot comprehend or control in their quest to control the throne of Scotland. Macbeth and his lady sink into a world of paranoia, murder and madness.

• Performance Dates: July 21, 22, 23, 24, 28, 29, 30 at 7pm. Location: Luther Burbank Park Amphitheatre. Special Performance on July 10 at 5pm at Mercerdale Park as a part of Summer Celebration!.

Shakespeare Special Double Feature Event

• July 17.  Comedy of Errors at 2pm and Macbeth at 7pm. Luther Burbank Park Ampitheatre.
