Strategies for Successful Senior Living

Aljoya Mercer Island hosts two talks: “Kick Start Your Go Gene” and “Maintain Your Brain” presented by Professors from the University of Washington (UW) School of Nursing, the number one nursing school in the nation. The lecture event is complimentary, and reservations are required.

Dr. Basia Belza, UW School of Nursing Professor and Lead, Coordinating Center of CDC-Healthy Aging Research Network Member presents current research on the “Go Gene”, the benefits of physical activity and strategies for being more active.

 Dr. Rebecca Logsdon, UW School of Nursing Research Professor discusses normal changes that occur in memory and thinking as we age.  She reviews scientific research on factors associated with maintaining brain health, and provides practical guidelines to incorporate brain-healthy behavior.

The lectures are part of Era Living’s ongoing series entitled “Strategies for Successful Senior Living.”  For more than 20 years, Era Living, Aljoya’s parent company, has partnered with the UW School of Nursing to collaborate on active aging and wellness programs.
