Borders Gift Cards Expire July 31

Borders book stores are closing their doors nationwide. The last day to redeem gift cards is July 31.

If you're still hanging onto any Borders gift cards or "Borders Bucks," now is the time to think about cashing them in for the remaining titles on your summer reading list.

The national bookstore company, which  that it will close all of its remaining stores, is now holding a 40-percent-off "going out of business sale" at all of its locations, including the locations closest to Mercer Island:  and Seattle.

The gift cards are often found in the check-out lanes of several large-scale retailers, such as , and .

According to the company's website, all "Borders Bucks" will expire on July 31. Gift cards, meanwhile, will be accepted for as long as the store remains open.
