College Nannies and Tutors Opens Doors

College Nannies and Tutors cuts the ribbon at the Feb. 3 grand opening of its new Learning Center on SE 27th Street.

 — a franchise with more than one hundred nannies and tutors in 23 states — is now here for families on Mercer Island.

From a nanny who provides back-up child care to a sick student to a junior in high school that dreads pre calculus and the struggle over homework, the new tutoring and on-call child care service is hoping to meet the needs of helping families with children from cradle to college.

“The Mercer Island community seems like the perfect location for us to partner with families and lend the support that comes from our trained and coached nannies and tutors.” said Laura Davis, Owner of the Mercer Island office and 8 more College Nannies and Tutors nearby. All the offices in 23 states are locally operated and managed.

Davis said her staff is locally-based and is ready to answer childcare needs ranging from occasional childcare for a deserved date night to a full time summer nanny. On the tutoring side of our service, College Nannies specialize in Middle School and High School support with role model tutors who not only know the subject matter at hand, but have a relatable way to teach it.

The Learning Center offers regularly scheduled tutoring sessions from Study and Organization Skills to high level math and science support. ACT and SAT Test Prep is taught through a customized program, mapped out specifically for each student. College Nannies reports an improved test score for 96 percent of students.

"Bring in your backpack and homework," said Learning Center Manager Mackenzie Krause. "Our goal is to help you sort it out, use your own textbook to improve missing skills and to teach how to grasp today’s homework, concepts and workload, which leads to better grades, deeper understanding and reduction in homework battles.”

"Our goal with the Mercer Island Learning Center is to create an inviting environment that students want to come to and leave with confidence for the week’s school activities."
