KING5 reports that local entrepreneur Darren Bruce is planning to place 14-foot tall floating billboards on Lake Washington.

The TV station went out with Bruce as he test drove the billboards on the water Thursday.

You may be familiar with the Seattle native's work already; i Alternative Media, also has mobile billboards mounted on trucks, according to the company's website.

KING5 reports that Bruce was inspired to launch the floating advertisements while driving across the State Route 520 Bridge and realizing how many eyeballs were driving by.

What do you think? Eyesore? Or do you wish you thought of it?

Eyesore! Or it would be an eyesore if he could get it big enough to see from the road. When I drove to work I squinted very hard to see what could that be on the lake (while trying not to make the traffic any worse than it already was). But it took this Patch article to conform that this was actually an attempt at a billboard.

I think we should show how we feel about this approach of commecializing public space by parking vans with advertising in front of Mr. Darran Bruce's home, on public property.
