Second-to-Last Farmers Market of the Season Sunday, Oct. 14

This Sunday is the last regularly scheduled farmers market — the last market of the season will be a special "Harvest Market" on Sunday Nov. 18, right before Thanksgiving.

With autumn in full swing, the last of the summer harvest is at the penultimate Mercer Island Farmers Market this season on Sunday, Oct. 14.

An array of late summer and fall fruits and vegetables are in stock, including fresh apples, pears, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers hot & mild, squash, onions, cabbage — and pumpkins, of course!

Mercer Island Farmers Market volunteer Judy Witmer, who has voluntarily organized and run the Children’s Table for five years, will beecorating Pumpkin Heads a favorite of the kids (and some adults).

Musical guests Strange Nails, an Alternative / Soul / Funk band, will be performing at the music stage next to Bicentennial Park.

It's also volunteer and vendor appreciation day, so the market's directors will be throwing the stand vendors a breakfast party and volunteers will be offered shopping discounts at the market.

The Harvest Market returns on Sunday, Nov. 18. You’ll find many things you need for Thanksgiving dinner including cranberries. New this year the vendor mix will include local artists & artisans who create the very highest quality arts and crafts.
