Stopsky's Launches 'Nosh Time' Happy Hour, Dinner Menu

After four months in business, deli owner Jeff Sanderson announces expanded hours and cuisine.

announced this week they have new, expanded hours, a revamped menu and a "Nosh Time" Happy Hour, as the restaurant hopes to attract a larger clientele on Mercer Island and the Eastside.

New hours for the  restaurant run from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Mon-Sat. and keep the deli "to-go" counter open until 7 p.m. And a new happy hour from 4 - 6 p.m. will feature discounted beer and wine along with items from our nosh section and beyond, such as a new chopped liver plate. New items will rotate in regularly, along with exciting cocktails made from local spirits.

"Along with a number of like-minded restaurateurs across the country, we believe for deli to survive it needs to serve classic dishes and adapt the cuisine for modern tastes," he said. "."

During the week, new salads and sandwiches, including a vegetarian Reuben named “Sham on Rye,” a lamb burger, and chopped liver and three varieties of cream sodas (called "egg creams") have been added to the menu.

According to a restaurant press release, dinner will now feature a weekly fresh sheet of about 10 items, all inspired by Jewish dishes from around the world. Selections include grilled beef tenderloin from Armenia, a pan-seared chicken with bowtie pasta that would make any NY deli proud, and a crispy skin cod with a Moroccan hot sauce and Israeli couscous.

On Saturdays and Sundays, they'll feature traditional hot breakfast items for brunch, like blintzes and latke Benedict and their signature "Steakon" smoke beef short rib. Stopsky's will close at 3 p.m. on Sunday.

"The compliments, comments, and suggestions from our customers, many who are now regulars ... We’ve learned a great deal," said Sanderson. ""We feel privileged to have spent the last four months serving the Mercer Island community, along with many visitors to 'The Rock' from Seattle, Bellevue and all over."
