The Islander Restaurant Set to Reopen Next Week, Says Owner

The restaurant, forced to relocate in August to it's current location in the first floor of the Aviara Apartments building, could reopen as early as Monday, Oct. 7.

The Islander restaurant, a well-known Mercer Island family restaurant and bar, recently announced it will re-open next week, Oct. 7-11.

The restaurant was forced to relocate in August to it’s current location in the first floor of the Aviara Apartments building at 2441 76th Avenue SE after its former location at the corner of SE 27th St. was slated for demolition.

The restaurant’s cuisine is North West Americana, serving up local, fresh ingredients - from wild fish to baked goods, all locally sourced when available and using only quality hormone and antibiotic free ingredients.

“We pride ourselves on good service, high quality food, spirits, regional wine and beer in a pleasant, warm, contemporary atmosphere,” said McManus.

The Islander will now serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, and its revamped bills itself as adventurous and affordable – “perfect for kicking back and or watching the game,” according to McManus.

The Islander will also feature microbrews and a variety of hard-to-get classic European-style beers and imports on tap, a full bar and specialty drinks.

The restaurant will also have expanded parking over its former location: 64 retail and public parking spaces in the new Aviara Location.

“We continually strive to be Mercer Island’s finest dining experience and always welcome customer input and special requests,” said McManus. “Please stop by and see us soon.
