  • Why Go: It may not be on the weekend, but it'll sure feel like it at this community Art Walk on Thusday. The Art Walk will showcase art by local artists, old and young. The free event will also feature live music and a prize drawings at many of the participating businesses. You might feel a little guilty about getting a jump start to the weekend, but you'll sleep easy knowing you helped support a great cause, in local art.

  • Why Go: Love garage sale shopping, but hate driving from sale to sale following those cardboard "garage sale" signs? You're in luck, because this Friday and Saturday the Mercer Island Presbyterian Church is holding a huge Rummage Sale event. You'll only need to type one address in that GPS of yours to get your garage sale fix, . Come and browse from the many clothes, toys, books, sporting goods and nick-nack after nick-nack and hopefully walk away with a treasure.

  • Why Go: The Mercer Island Thrift Shop and the Church of the Latter Day Saints are teaming up for their first annual Book Sale this Friday and Saturday. Get there early and walk out with a bagful of books, CDs, magazines and the occasional signed first edition.
  • Pricing: Admission is free.

  • Where/When: 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. Sat, May 21 at .
  • Why Go: Spend your Saturday at The Olde Wine Store tasting the Reds, Whites, and Sauternes from Bordeaux, an exquisite selection from Chateau St. Martin. After the tasting stick around for a special Pioneer Park inspired piano recital followed by a showing of the Farrington Foundation’s Film, Depth of Field which is also about our very own, Pioneer Park.
  • Pricing: Admission is free, no tasting fee. Enjoy 10% off wines bought from the selection on Saturday.


  • Where/When: 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Sun, May 22 at . 
  • Why Go: Join celebrated Northwest glass artist, Paul Marioni as he leads a lecture at the Bellevue Arts Museum this Sunday. This lecture is going to be real treat for any art enthusiasts out there, as Marioni is considered to be one of the world's most prominent glass artists. Not famialar with Paul Marioni's work? Get the scoop with quick Google Image search.
  • Price: The lecture is free with admission to the museum.
