  • Why Go: In the finale to the Aljoya's food-themed Classics on Film Series, you'll get a chance to meet and join Seattle author, Erica Bauermeister in a discussion of her New York Times bestselling novel, The School of Essential Ingredients. Bauermeister will discuss the inspiration of her novel as well as a sneak preview to her newest novel, Joy for Beginners.

  • Why Go: Looking for that perfect Mother's day outing to take Mom on this weekend? You probably won't be able to pick anything more Mom-friendly then this Craft, Antique and Garden Show at the Northwest Arts Center in Bellevue. There will be over thirty vendors supplying all the unique crafts, jewelry, soaps, vintage items, and nic-nacks that every Mom loves.

  • Why Go: If you're a fan of the ultra popular reality TV series Project Runway, you won't want to miss this event. Renowned fashion expert Tim Gunn will be hosting a Lucky Brand Jeans fashion show in Bellevue Square's Center Court. And it gets better, if you purchase $100 dollars or more of Lucky Brand Jeans between now and Saturday, you'll get to meet Tim Gunn, be photographed with him and receive a personalized, signed copy of his new book Gunn's Golden Rules: Life's Little Lessons for Making It Work. Sounds like a killer deal to me!

  • Why Go: Stay local this Saturday and spend the afternoon with the good folks at the Olde Wine Store. You'll be treated to a wide selection of wines from Walla Walla Country, as well as some old time folk songs supplied by Mercer Island Farmer's Market musician, Patrick Daugherty.

  • Why Go: Tired of overpaying for organic vegetables at your local market? Well, here's your chance to cut out the middle man, and start growing your own. Just visit the Seattle Tilth Edible Plant Sale this weekend and pick up everything you'll need to start growing all your organic favorites. Even if you're completely lost when it comes to gardening, just visit the on-site Garden Educators and they'll get you pointed in the right direction. Not sure what to expect from this Plant Sale?
