The Phantom of the Opera 25th Anniversary Live Cinema Broadcast

  • Where/When: 11a.m. Sunday, Oct. 2 broadcast live to local movie theaters
  • Why Go: NCM Fathom and Omniverse Vision are partnering to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Andrew Lloyd Webber's history-making The Phantom of the Opera with a fully staged musical celebration broadcast live from London's Royal Albert Hall. Broadway’s longest running show, seen by over 100 million people worldwide, comes to life on the big screen for a special event featuring over 200 cast members, orchestra musicians and luminaries involved with The Phantom of the Opera over the past 25 years
  • Cost: Movie tickets are: $22 for adults, Seniors & Students $20.

  • Where/When: 10 a.m. on Oct 2,  at the Mercer Island Sunday Farmers Market
  • Why Go: The City of Mercer Island will continue its Neighborhood Tree Planting Program this fall. The program, which is available to all Island residents, offers native trees for planting at a reduced cost. The goals of the program are to, provide native trees to residents at a low cost, reduce our carbon footprint by sequestering carbon in trees, reduce stormwater runoff, andiIncrease wildlife habitat, especially when done in conjunction with the removal of invasive species such as ivy and blackberry.

  • Where/When: Saturday, Oct 1 at the on Mercer Island.

  • Why Go: Brain rules for baby offers parents facts- not just advice- in an engaging, practical way. Find out all about your child’s brain and what you can do to optimize it.
  • Cost: $50.

 

The Mystery of Edwin Drood

  • Where/When: Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm Sundays at 2 pm at the Redwood Theater on Fred W. Meitzer Ave NE, Redmond.

  • Why Go: This wildly warm-hearted theatrical experience kicks off when the Music Hall Royale (a hilariously loony Victorian musical troupe) "puts on" its flamboyant rendition of the unfinished Dickens classic,  'The Mystery of Edwin Drood.' 
  • Cost: $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and youth.

 


  • Where/When: 6 p.m. Sat, Oct, 1 at the .
  • Why Go: Admit it, you're dying to know how your old flame has fared, and to show off your own success to your former classmates!
  • Cost: Admission is free.
