Police officers initially responded to reports of a home invasion robbery at a home near Islander Middle School around 5 p.m. on Sunday. But after receiving additional information, officers later learned the call was a domestic violence-related incident at a home on the 7400 block of 81st Place SE involving a gun.

Reports indicated one suspect who was refusing to leave and who had possibly barricaded himself in the home with his girlfriend and her friend.

The homeowner (the friend of the girlfriend) called 9-1-1 from inside the house on her cell phone and reported the incident.

The homeowner stated that earlier in the day she had invited the suspect’s girlfriend over to her home.  Later in the afternoon, the suspect arrived at the residence and an argument ensued between the suspect and his girlfriend.  The homeowner stated the suspect pulled out a handgun and pointed it at her.  The homeowner eventually exited the house (with the suspect and girlfriend still inside) and was interviewed by officers.

After numerous attempts to contact the suspect via phone, officers were able to reach the suspect and convinced him to exit the residence.  The suspect was taken into custody and arrested without incident when he exited the residence.

The suspect was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of first-degree assault.

Police report no further information is available at this time.
