The Mercer Island High School boys basketball team lost a close game to Timberline High School Saturday, 55-56.

According to the Seattle Times, the Islanders' Joe Rasmussen took a shot at the basket in the last four seconds that would have put Mercer Island over the top, but it was not to be.

The Islanders dropped a heartbreaker to Timberline, 56 - 55, to end their season. Top recruit Donovan Dorsey enjoyed a hot shooting night on his way to a game-high 27 points. The Islanders were let by Nick Nordale, with 16 points and Espen Platou with 12. The loss ends the Islanders season after 22 wins and a KingCo Conference Championship.
