On Sunday, July 8, the Advisory Board partnered with the to hold a . Thirteen-year-old Miranda Johnson and her mother, Tanya Bednarski, won 1st Place in the Pie competition with their Summer Harvest Berry Pie (pictured). Cynthia Shifrin, a Mercer Island psychotherapist and food columnist in the Mercer Island Reporter, also placed first for her dessert creation, Nectarine, Blueberry and Strawberry Galette with Macadamia and Oat Crumble.
