MIHS student OK After Losing Consciousness on First Day of School
The unnamed female student received medical attention but left the school under her own power.
A student reportedly lost consciousness at the end of the first day of classes for the new school year, according to several eyewitnesses at the school this afternoon.
A aid car arrived around 2 p.m. and several EMTs treated a female student. Escorted by firefighters, she later left the school under her own power in a black SUV about an hour later as classes ended for the day.
Mercer Island Fire Dept. Lt. Bret Garrett confirmed an aid car was dispatched to Mercer Island High School. Due to privacy laws, the fire department was unable to offer any other details of the incident.
