  • Why Go: Come root on the Islanders as they take on the undefeated Meadowdale Mavericks this Saturday in the first round of the WIAA Class 3A Football State Playoffs. The Islanders (8-2) are coming off a 21-14 victory over Ferndale last week and are trying to reach the state quarterfinals for the first time since 1988! to see the highlights from last week's game.   • Why Go: This film classic is part of the ongoing Saturday Matinee film series examining the portrayal of the media in Hollywood films. Previous films in the series include The Philaldelphia Story, His Girl Friday and Citizen Kane. The screening will be introduced by film historian Lance Rhodes.

  • Why Go: Join the Metropolitan Academy of Music on Mercer Island as they present their student’s Fall Recital. There will be several one 1 hour recitals where students will perform on the piano, violin, guitar, djembe and voice. Beginning students through intermediate levels will be performing in  this event.

  • Where/When: 7-10 p.m. on Sun, Nov. 13 at the .
  • Why Go: If you've ever wanted to learn to swing dance, this Sunday might be the best time to try it out. Eastside Swing Dance another one of their Sunday Swing Dances at the North Bellevue Community Center.. The dance starts with free group lesson from 7:00-7:30 p.m. and then you'll get to dance the night away. Not sure Swing Dancing is for you?
