Classics on Film! Spies, Detectives and Secret Agents

Dec. 6 – Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
(Tomas Alfredson, 2011)—After an undercover agent is
killed in Hungary during the Cold War, espionage expert
George Smiley (Gary Oldman) is asked to investigate the
possibility of a Russian mole in the highest echelons of
British Intelligence. Based upon the 1970’s BBC television
series starring Alec Guinness. This modern film version
features John Hurt, Benedict Cumberbatch, Colin Firth,
and Tom Hardy.
Sponsored by the Mercer Island Arts Council and hosted by Aljoya Retirement Living. All films include introductory comments and post-film discussions led by film historian Lance Rhoades. All screenings will start at 7:30 pm and will be held at Aljoya Retirement Living Center, Mercer Island. All films are freeand  open to the public. Free refreshments served.
