A weekend immersion: Saturday 12-3pm, Sunday 1-3pm.
Power Vinyasa Yoga blends the intensity and physical challenge of Ashtanga yoga with the breath and fluidity of Vinyasa yoga. In this weekend immersion you will be introduced to the fundamentals and learn ways to “power up” your yoga practice.
This 2-day program will challenge you both physically and mentally in preparation for attending our Power Vinyasa classes. We will learn more advanced poses and variations to add a fresh challenge to your practice. We will experiment with a pace that helps you take your practice to the next level of intensity, while exploring the inner power that gives us space for calm discernment. New poses will be introduced using demonstration and step-by-step instruction with ample time for practice and questions. This practice is done in a heated room to increase endurance, induce sweating and help the body open and release tension.
Some of the poses to be covered are: Upward Facing Dog, Chaturanga, Wheel, Camel, Dancer, Flip the Dog, Arm Binds, Bird of Paradise, and Crow.
This experience is intended to be fun and interactive as well as challenging, Bring you courage questions, and an open mind!
A basic understanding of sun salutations and some yoga experience required.
