Hen was in the IDF for almost five years. As a lieutenant in a unit called COGAT, he worked as an intermediary between the Israeli Defense Forces (the IDF) and the Palestinian Authority (the PA), the UN, and the many non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that work in the West Bank. Besides being able to talk about growing up in Israel and about Israel as a country and its culture, Hen has an excellent first-hand understanding of the nuances of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the peace process.

10:30 am Island Crust Cafe and the NYHS Student Council are sponsoring a delicious buffet lunch for students and alumni in celebration of Israel's milestone birthday. Guests can enjoy this delicious buffet for just $6.50/person.
