Mercer Island Women's Club May General Meeting & Luncheon

The Mercer Island Women's Club will be having our May general meeting and luncheon with guest speaker Jane Meyer Brahm.

Did you know that if an early developer had had his way, Mercer Island would have two golf courses, two airports, and a tall observation tower in the middle? Did you know that Mercer Island is the only city in King County situated on an island, and the only community in the county in which the boundaries of the city and the school district are identical? Jane Meyer Brahm, newest member of the Mercer Island City Council and former editor of the Mercer Island Reporter, informally shares her thoughts about the place where we live. In doing research for the upcoming new, revised version of Mercer Island’s history, she’s come across some fascinating things you might not know about Mercer Island. Hear stories about Island pioneers, dreamers, leaders and scoundrels alike. Join her in a look at Mercer Island past and present.

RSVP required by May 3, 2011.
