Silent Auction for Carolyn

UPDATE: The date for this event was changed to Nov. 27

As some of you know already, my mother, Carolyn lost
everything she owned in a house fire three weeks ago including her home of twenty plus years. Carolyn spent a week in the hospital treating her lung damage related to the smoke inhalation. In addition to losing her home and possessions, she lost her close companion of ten years, Sparky. Sparky was a beautiful small golden cocker spaniel that was by her side every day since she rescued him. Unfortunately, he was too frightened and ran from my mother where she could not reach him and he succumbed to the smoke.

One of the greatest things, I believe, about Mercer Island and its residents is its sense of community and the always ready to help others attitude. My husband and I  are coordinating a Silent Auction Fundraiser to help Carolyn November 27, 2011 at the from 6pm to 9:30pm. We will have drinks, appetizers, desserts and many fun and unique things to bid on.

I hope you could take a few minutes to come and have a glass of wine and a bite to eat while you bid on some wonderfully donated items to help a really great lady my mother, Carolyn.

Thank you, Tamara Hobson
