What's Open and Closed on Labor Day on Mercer Island
Check out this important information on what will remain open on the holiday.
Next Monday - Sept. 2 - is Labor Day, so Patch has compiled a list of places in your community that are closed for the holiday.
Banks, post offices and the offices of elected officials will be closed for the day.
The King County Library System, including the Mercer Island Library, are closed.
King County Metro Transit service will operate on a Sunday schedule. If a route does not normally run on Sunday, there is no service on Labor Day. Sunday fares will be in effect on Metro bus routes on Labor Day.
Most local supermarkets - and a majority of restaurants and businesses - will remain open.
Regular recycling and garbage service will continue Labor Day for most Western Washington.
The holiday marks the official end of summer. Local schools will begin the fall semester on Sept. 3.
