Too far out for MI's unattractive Downtown???

Toronto's "Edge Cities" are a bit more "far out" as far as design goes, compared to humble Mercer Island.

These "Twisty Towers" just outside of Toronto (in the large suburb of Missassauga, Ontario) show what can be done with some imagination. What do you think? Jerry

. Here's the NYT story on these "Twisty Towers". They're interesting but perhaps a bit too far out for Mercer Island. How do you feel about these creative and unusual apartment buildings? http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/20/realestate/commercial/a-curvaceous-tower-puts-mississauga-ontario-on-the-map.html?_r=2&scp=2&sq=toronto&st=cse

How sad to see the number of unattractive downtown buildings that have been built on Mercer Island lately. However there are some that are quite attractive, well designed by good architects. I'll take some photos, post them. (I used to head the AIA Design Committee). JG-
