This time of year, most of us can't help thinking about what we wish for. It kind of goes with the territory when we're constantly bombarded by holiday ads. And it can be VERY tough to resist buying a present or two for ourselves when shopping for others, right?
Since my life at the moment revolves around real estate and my family, I'm thinking right now about a wish list for my perfect Mercer Island home.
At the top of the list are things like eco-friendly finishes (quartz counter tops, reclaimed wood accents, locally-made tile backsplashes) and new energy-efficient appliances, plus those less-sexy things like a super-efficient furnace, a tankless water heater, triple-pane windows, and spray-foam insulation.
And of course, a built-in space to hide small kitchen appliances like a new espresso machine!
Even if you have a custom-built Mercer Island dream house, if you've lived there for a year or so, you've probably got a wish list of your own. (Sort of like any relationship, you find out things aren't perfect after a while.)
