Okay, Seattle and Eastside traffic has been crazier than usual this past week! Since we spent so much time sitting in traffic, enjoying some fun nature activities with your family this weekend might be just what you need. Get out and stretch your legs tonight at the Night Hike scheduled at Lewis Creek Park Visitor Center from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event is geared for ages 5 years and older; the cost is $2 for residents & $3 for non-residents. You must pre-register for the Night Hike by calling 425-452-6885, course 75884. On Sunday, 11/10/13, there are two fun, FREE nature activities in Bellevue. At Lewis Creek Park Visitor Center, they will be showing the children’s movie Growing Up Wild: Penguins on Parade from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. This movie is perfect for nature enthusiasts ages 3 and up. Over at Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center, have fun learning about the blue heron rookery that calls the slough home. This all ages Ranger program is scheduled to run from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 10th.
You can also tour Mercer Island and discover its natural beauty. With 475 acres of parks and green space, there’s so much for the nature enthusiast to explore. And take some time to see a few of the lovely homes located on the island. Four Windermere Real Estate/Mercer Island listings will be available to preview on Sunday, November 10th.
