Rotarians Annual Rotary Park Spring Party

Rotarians spend a beautiful saturday morning at Rotary Park.

Saturday, Rotarians and Interacters spent the morning at Rotary Park located across from the Library and across from St. Monica's Church.  Every spring, Rotarians in cooperation with the Parks Department spend a morning cleaning up the park and making minor improvements to the Park. This year had a different flavor in that instead of weeding, Rotarians planted close to 50 trees ranging from small ground cover to small saplings.

The weather was great and we had great turn out work party. 16 Rotarians and four Interacters mad for light work.  Special thanks go to Felix and Ben from the
Parts Department who did a fantastic job preparing the site and pre-positioning
tools and plantings.  Not a second was wasted.  In addition to the 50 plantings,
the Rotarians barked all of the tree stands, laid a thin cover of gravel along
the path and installed a bench.

We finished with a nice lunch where Yogi Agrawal remembered Joyce Hedlund and Neil Thomson.  In 2010, the Club planted two small sequoias in remembrance of Joyce and Neil.  The sequoias are now about chest high.  A special thanks to our Interacters who helped with the heavy lifting, Jasmine L., Stephanie L., Chris L., and Kylee S.
