Earth Day Festivities 'Spring' to Life with Leap for Green Fair

The annual fair is gearing up to celebrate Green Schools, Green Businesses and much more.

Mercer Island's own sustainability fair, Leap For Green, is gearing up for a fantastic event this April 16th! created this event 4 years ago in an effort to raise awareness about sustainable living and to offer our citizens many ways to learn how to be more responsible and compassionate to our community environmentally. The main message is "environment, economy and equity."

This year's event, held at the from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., will celebrate the many different elements of green living including highlighting our school district's success in achieving "Level 1 Certification" through King County's Green School Program. An honor expected to be received in May.

The fair will host the usual and fabulous , music, Guatemalan dancers, kids crafts, local utility companies explaining the services they can offer our community and so much more. is the title sponsor for the event, celebrating it's contribution to our island's Green Business profile!
