Letter: Pro-Grausz 'Women of MI' Letter Ignores Actions

Editor:

"Dear Women of Mercer Island" begins Council Members Bertlin and Senn's September 17th letter imploring women, not men, to vote for Dan Grausz.  Scrutinize their statements in the letter carefully.

Bertlin and Senn claim Grausz is a women's rights advocate and without his backing they wouldn't be on the council.

They ignore Grausz's long-time support of City Manager Rich Conrad.  Remember Conrad's treatment of two women, former clerk, Tina Eggers, and former Assistant City Manager, Londi Lindell, cost the city millions in settlement, public records violations and legal fees.

They forget Grausz nominated Conrad for Citizen of the Year in 2013.  He also persuaded Bertlin, Senn and two other Council Members to increase his pension benefit.

The envelope's return address space and the heading on the letter confuse.  Bertlin and Senn's names are prominently displayed on both, but no return address is given.

Who paid for this mailing?  Not Bertlin and Senn.  Grausz's Re-Election Committee did.  But you'll need a microscope to read the miniscule print at the bottom of the second page to discover that.  And that print size and its location just happen to be a violation of the Public Disclosure Act.
