The King County Medical Examiner released the name of the man who died after being struck by a passing vehicle this week. He was Larry Lunden, 90, of Mercer Island.

Larry Lunden, 90, of Mercer Island, was the pedestrian who died a day after being struck by a car on Island Crest Way, the King County Medical Examiner reported Saturday.

The man died of his injuries at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Friday, a day after a passing car struck him in the 4700 block of Island Crest Way around 5 p.m. Thursday just before he reached the sidewalk at the location of an old crosswalk that has been moved, according to a report by the Mercer Island Reporter. The Mercer Island Police Department did not return a phone call left by Patch. A man who answered Lunden's phone said that the family declined to speak at this time.
