Police Blotter: Multiple Arrests and a Stolen iPhone

The following information from May 7-9 was supplied by the Mercer Island Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

May 7

Woman arrested following traffic stop

Police arrested a 32-year-old Mercer Island woman for driving with a suspended license after she was pulled over on 75th Place Southeast.

Man arrested following computer check

Police arrested a 27-year-old Mercer Island man after a routine computer check returned a misdemeanor King County traffic warrant. Police stopped the man on Southeast 34th Street, took him into custody and booked him into King County Jail.

iPhone stolen from Mercer Island High School
A Mercer Island High School student contacted police after his iPhone was stolen from his zippered backpack while he was on lunch break. The student was able to track the phone to Bellevue before the signal was lost, presumably because the phone was switched off.

May 8

15-year-old girl arrested on pair of warrants
Police arrested a 15-year-old girl on a juvenile misdemeanor warrant and a juvenile felony warrant after they were dispatched to 60th Avenue Southeast to investigate an after hours park violation. The girl was booked into King County Juvenile Detention Center in Seattle.

May 9

Man arrested on warrant following traffic stop
Police arrested a 54-year-old Mercer Island man ona warrant for driving with a suspended license after he was pulled over for a traffic violation on Southeast 40th Street. The man was transported to King County Jail.

Man arrested for DUI after traffic stop

Police arrested a 35-year-old Mercer Island man for suspicion of drunk driving after they pulled him over for equipment and traffic violations on Island Crest Way. The driver failes field sobriety tests and provided two Breathalyzer samples of .199 and .191. His vehicle was impounded and he was later released to his father.
