Police Blotter: Woman's Past Allegedly Returns in Cyberstalking Incident

(Feb. 9-14) Mercer Island Police are keeping tabs on an alleged cyberstalker from India.

A local woman contacted Mercer Island Police Feb. 12 to report a former co-worker was allegedly cyberstalking her.

The woman, 38, had been receiving messages on her Facebook account from the man, an Indian citizen, but turned to the authorities for help after his messages became "more bizarre and irate."

The man allegedly has a history of harassing the woman when they worked at the same location in Norman, Okla. 20 years ago. According to a narrative of events recorded in the police file, he was 17-year-old student at the University of Oklahoma at the time when she filed a report with local police—which eventually led to his expulsion from school and return to India.
