In the week that was the bad guys were up to car prowls, DUIs, stolen meds and confiscated wallets.

Monday, May 23

(Property Found) An island resident reported finding a bike in the 3200 block of 72nd Ave SE. It was found in the bushes and had evidently been there a long time. It was recovered and placed into found property.

(Assault) A 35-year old female island resident called police to report that someone had stolen her prescription medication and also had an altercation with her 16-year old daughter. She said that she was stressed out by not having her medication and "lost it." Contacted at school, the daughter confirmed her mother's report and agreed to file a report at a later time.

Wednesday, May 25

(Lost Documents) A 21 year-old female island resident reported she had lost her visa, passport and I94. She was advised that she needed a police report in order to have them replaced by the Indian consulate.

(Fraud) A 55-year old female resident was reviewing her credit card bill when she found an unathorized charge of $543.95. Upon investigation, it was found that merchandise was ordered via the internet, charged to her card, and shipped to an address in Ogden, UT. She notified the credit card company of the charge.

Thursday, May 26

(DUI) Officers stopped at car at 1:32 am at the 4600 block of Island Crest Way for speeding and lane violations. Upon investigation, the driver, a Seattle man, admitted to having a few beers. He failed a field sobriety test and was arrested. He was released to his mother the following morning.

Saturday, May 28

(Car Prowl) A 17-year old female island resident reported that she parked her car behind her house in the 4600 block of Forest Ave SE. The next day, she discovered that someone had been inside it. Neighbors say they heard the car's alarm system go off at 4:30 am that morning and saw a shadow of a man running away but could not provide a description. Nothing was taken but the center glove box was removed and some wires appeared to have been tampered with.

Monday, May 30

(Traffic Offense) Officers stopped a car at 10:45 p.m. after it ran a stop sign at the intersection of 78th Ave SE and SE 28th St. The 32-year old female Seattle driver was found to have a suspended license. She was arrested, processed and released.

Tuesday, May 31

(Theft) A 16-year old female island resident found a wallet while inside McDonald's. She removed all the contents and the wallet was later recovered from a trash cah. The suspect was found with the wallet's contents was arrested and released to her mother.
