City's Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Open for Public Comment

The City of Mercer Island is welcoming input into one of the city's largest annual infrastructure expenditures: street repairs and improvements.

The City of Mercer Island is currently seeking comments for the 2012-2017 Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP). The Plan covers roadway, pedestrian, bicycle and other transportation projects planned for the six-year period beginning in 2012.

The Mercer Island City Council will hold a public hearing at the May 16, 2011 Council Meeting at 7:00 pm to discuss the preliminary draft of 2012-2017 Six Year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).  Any interested person(s) may appear and provide input.  Written comments must be received by April 30, 2011. Click here to submit your comments online.

State law requires that the Plan be updated and adopted by elected officials annually (before July 1). Plan adoption by the City Council takes place following a public comment period and a public hearing. The TIP is scheduled for adoption at the Council’s regular meeting on June 6, 2011.
