I-90 Express Lanes Closed This Weekend
Eastbound express lane access from Seattle to Mercer Island will close at 8 p.m. Friday night and re--open Monday morning.
The I-90 express lanes will be closed to all traffic around-the-clock from 8 p.m. Friday, July 22 through 5 a.m. Monday, July 25 while crews on Phase Two of theI-90 Two-Way Transit and HOV project place a drainage crossing.
The lanes are usually open for eastbound traffic from 2 p.m. Friday until midnight on Sunday.
Phase Two of the I-90 Two-Way Transit and HOV project is more than 50 percent complete and set for completion in early 2012. The project is adding an HOV lane to each direction of I-90 in preparation for the loss of the reversible center lanes to Sound Transit's East Link light rail line. Completion of the project is scheduled for late 2014.
