Lions Club Donates $7,000 to MIYFS Emergency Aid Fund

The donation continues the Lions Club's support of the YFS Emergency and Family Services program since the 1980.

The (YFS) announced a donation of $7,000 by the Mercer Island Lions Club to help support the emergency family services YFS provides Islanders, according to a press release.

Longtime member Craig Fetters presented YFS Director Cindy Goodwin with a check for the donation on Feb. 28 at a YFS Advisory Board meeting. The local Lions club has been and continues to be the largest Island supporter for Emergency and Family services. Goodwin told Mercer Island City Council during its January planning session that her department for these services in 2011.

According to Cheryl Hudson-Manriquez, YFS Family Assistance Coordinator, the funds help low income Island families with rent, mortgages, food, and medical treatment.
