Local Firefighters Endorse Wong for City Council Seat
Mercer Island Firefighters IAF Local 1762 endorsed City Council candidate Benson Wong this week.
The following statement was issued by the International Association of Firefighters Local 1762, which represents firefighters on Mercer Island:
"The International Association of Firefighters Local 1762 on September 25, 2013 voted unanimously to endorse Benson Wong in his campaign for Mercer Island city council.
"Through an endorsement process that both Benson Wong and his opponent completed, Mr. Wong demonstrated that he holds public safety in the highest regard.
The firefighters also see that he has a very pragmatic approach to problem solving. Mr. Wong will be an advocate for the safety of the community and the people that protect it. He holds values and beliefs that the firefighters feel would be a true asset while serving on the city council."
