Mercer Island City Council Agenda: Monday, November 21

City Council will meet at 6 p.m. in council chambers for a study session, and reconvene at 7 p.m. for its regular council meeting.

The Mercer Island City Council will meet on Monday, November 21 at  with an extensive agenda starting at 6 p.m.

First, the council will meet for a study session concerning an audit of the city's human resources department to review its policies and procedures. Several "substative" changes are recommended by private consultant team led by former Auburn, WA mayor Bob Roegner, who billed the city $15,000 for his services. by Councilman Bruce Bassett in the aftermath of with former Deputy City Manager Londi Lindell.

Study sessions are described as a more informal conversation of council, staff and outside experts. They are held in council chambers and are open to the public but no public comment is normally taken and study sessions are not televised.

The Council will begin its regular City Council meeting at 7 p.m. with an Eagle Scout presentation by Mayor Jim Pearman, and then open the floor to public comment.

The council will also review a report on a new $770 ambulance fee charged by the , and hold a public hearing to review a midterm budget report by the city's Finance Director Chip Corder. Public comment on the budget report is also permitted at this time.

At some point during the public meeting after 7 p.m., the council will recess to a closed-door session to review the performance of City Manager Rich Conrad.
