Primary Election Ballots Due Tuesday: Voters to Decide King County Parks Levy and More

King County Elections data shows that as of Friday, August 2, only about 14 percent of registered county voters had returned their ballots.

All King County voters are deciding the fate of a King County parks levy intended to replace two expiring 2007 levy lid lifts.

Funds from the levy would be used to maintain the county's parks and trails and to expand the regional trail system. More info on the levy can be found here.

The measure requires a simple majority to pass.

Meanwhile, incumbent King County Executive Dow Constantine faces challenges by three other candidates for his seat: Alan E. Lobdell, Goodspaceguy and Everett A. Stewart. The County Elections site has more information about all four men.

Primary election voters are narrowing candidates to two each in both races ahead of November's general election.

Ballots must be postmarked by Aug. 6 or returned to a designated drop box by 8 p.m. that day. You can drop off your ballot off in person at locations in Seattle or Bellevue: Seattle — King County Administration Building, 500 4th Avenue; Bellevue — Crossroads Shopping Center, 15600 NE 8th Street.

And remember to check back Tuesday night for election results.
